Today, myself and my team at RocketLab Enterprise attempted on making the propellant mixture for Mk.1, our first rocket model. Check out the link above to view more details about what we did today. The two videos below are basically the highlights of today, whereby we are testing the combustion reaction of our propellant mixture.
Although I anticipated a less vigorous reaction than this (since there must have been some parts of the manufacturing process that could have negatively impacted the efficiency of the propellant compound), the results were perfect. As shown in the videos, the propellant mixture combusted vigorously and produced high velocity gas products.
