Making Rocket Body (5): Designing and printing new wings

์ตœ์ข… ์ˆ˜์ •์ผ: 2021๋…„ 2์›” 10์ผ

These are the newly designed cone and wings. The cone is mostly the same as the previous version other than that its minimum diameter is reduced to match into the PVC body. The wings have a few adjustments: the width of the wings are increased, the height and length of the wings are also increased, and there are three gaps between the individual wings to ensure that they fit into the body more smoothly. The video above is a time-lapse video of my designing procedure.

The printing seemed to be continuing smoothly, but what I saw when I came back from school was the printing nozzle moving on its own without the filament being added layer by layer to the wings. This resulted in the wings being left unfinished shown in the photo above. Luckily for me, since the top of the unfinished wings is perfectly parallel to the ground and I have a vernier caliper, I will be able to print out the unprinted upper part of the wings and hopefully join them together with an instant adhesive or a glue gun to successfully finish making the body of Mk.1
