After building the body of the rockets (https://mjkim22.wixsite.com/rocketlab/post/cone-shape-experiment-5), I realized that using molten sugar + potassium nitrate mixture was not an ideal choice for the fuel, since the mixture quickly solidifies in room temperature, making it extremely hard to fill the PVC container with the fuel.
Moreover, to make sure that there is a hollow space around the central axis of the fuel container (PVC pipe, inner diameter 40mm), I will be putting a glue gun stick into the center of the PVC pipe. This way, there is a hollow 'blank' that does not contain fuel.
Prepare 100g of sugar,
and 186g of potassium nitrate (KNO3), such that the fuel-to-oxidizer ratio is 13:7
– 100g x (13/7) ≈ 186g –
Then, use a blender to thoroughly mix the sugar and the potassium nitrate oxidizer
Attach a glue gun stick on the central axis of the PVC pipe
Place the PVC pipe over the glue gun stick, align both of them to the central axis, then fill the sugar–potassium nitrate mixture powder into the PVC pipe. After the pipe is filled with the mixture, (leaving 7cm from the top), fill the pipe with a 2~3cm layer of hot glue.
